Life as we knew it only weeks ago is skewed beyond our control. Any vision of a secure future is in the hands of those who failed in their vigilance and laissez faire attitudes.
Given the absence of a top down plan, individuals have taken up the challenge to protect their communities. Leadership is coming from local neighbourhoods, local health care providers, and some local governments. Imbued with a fighting spirit, creativity, energy, and common sense, they are asking the rest of us only to follow proven practices to help curb the spread of a global health attack.
Unless and until we prove to be capable of putting personal preference aside in favor of the greater good, our future health -physical, mental, societal, financial – remains unknown.
We are all in this together. It’s time for each of us to prove it. It’s time for top leadership to do the same.
